Australis is an expedition cruise company with 25 years of experience in navigating through the southern channels of Chilean and Argentine Patagonia, on 3, 4 and 7-night programs exploring the Strait of Magellan, the Beagle Channel, and Tierra del Fuego, with tours that start in the southern cities of Punta Arenas and Ushuaia.

With landings at some points and zodiac tours in others, the trip goes to the main points of interest in Tierra del Fuego, the Strait of Magellan, and the Beagle Channel, reaching the Pía and Águila glaciers, among others, the Alberto Agostini National Park (in the Darwin Cordillera), the Karukinka Park, and Cape Horn, the southernmost point of the continent where Australis is the only visitor making landings on a regular basis and which, this season, celebrates 400 years since its discovery by a group of Dutch sailors. During the journey, along with the impressive geography, you can see native forests and exotic flowers and local fauna such as sea lions, elephant seals, cormorants, Magellanic penguins and dolphins, among other species. In addition, there are special tours during the season focusing on whale watching or recreating Darwin’s voyage, photographic safaris, and a program that complements the cruise with an overland land tour through Tierra del Fuego which includes visiting a King Penguin colony, a Patagonian barbecue, and a tour of local ranches.

Australis has two spectacular expedition cruise ships, Stella Australis and Via Australis, built in Valdivia, Chile at the Asenav shipyards. Specially designed to navigate the waters of the Strait of Magellan with maximum comfort and world class service, they have advanced technology, meeting international standards in safety and service.
